Alex & John’s Intimate Wedding

Alex & John were married on the 10th of August and their special day was a small intimate affair surrounded by family and close friends. Alex chose not to wear a traditional wedding dress but instead she wore a beautiful floral dress. She wanted her flowers to match her dress and overall colour scheme of cream, pink and coffee, when Alex showed me her dress I instantly thought of the gorgeous Amnesia Rose as I thought this would be a perfect match. The Amnesia Rose has  a very popular over the last few years and is a firm favourite when creating Vintage style wedding flowers.

Alex’s bridal bouquet  was made up of Cream Avalanche Roses, Amnesia Roses, Pom Pom Dahlia’s and Astrantia and to incorporate the coffee theme the stems were wrapped in satin coffee coloured ribbon finished with diamante pins.

The grooms button-hole was made up of one cream Avalanche Rose and Astrantia and all the button holes were finished with the same coffee coloured ribbon and diamante pin to match Alex’s bouquet. Alex had three small flowers girls the youngest being eighteen months (aww cute) for the youngest she had a pretty flower wand of cream Avalanche Rose, Lisianthus and Astrantia finished with a coffee ribbon bow.

The other flower girl  bouquets were a small posy of Avalanche Roses, Pink Lisianthus and Amneisa Roses finished with the coffee coloured satin ribbon.

Alex wanted diamante’s to be incorporated into her designs, I suggested just having a few scattered amongst the flowers in her bouquet and on the ribbon so not to use to many as this might spoil the natural prettiness of the flowers together.

As well as the bridal party flowers Alex also wanted some small table arrangements for her reception which was being held in her garden at home. Alex has got a beautiful garden which has been a passionate ongoing project of hers for the last nine years, and she decided it would be a lovely setting for the intimate reception she wanted and they were very luckily with the weather as it was hot and sunny all day! She had pretty tea lights scattered on the tables as well as a yummy hog roast which was enjoyed by all her guests.

The tumblers were made up of Roesemary (which smelt sooo lush!) Lisianthus, Sedium and Pom Pom Dahlias.

Many congratulations to Alex and John. xx
